You’ve heard the diagnosis. It’s plagiocephaly or brachycephaly. And now it’s easy to worry about the future for your precious baby—or feel you could have done something to prevent it.
But we have a reason not to stress, not to get overwhelmed. It’s a way we can help your baby’s head shape. We’ve used 10,000 points of data to make sure of our design.
It’s called Sprout3D™. It’s Surestep’s most innovative design yet, a lightweight, comfortable helmet that gently guides your infant’s cranial growth.
We designed it for your baby’s comfort—and to be easy for parents to use. You can even open and close it with one hand while you’re holding your baby!
Cranial asymmetries in infants are common. About 20% of babies have them at some point. Usually, it’s one of these diagnoses:
What does Sprout3D do? Cranial asymmetry happens because infants’ skulls are soft, growing, and easy to shape. Well, they can be corrected in the same way through a cranial remolding orthosis (CRO). This is how:
We’ve put special features into this helmet to make the treatment easier on you and your baby:
We even tested several types of fasteners to find one that makes only a small, gentle sound next to your baby’s ear. Remember, your orthotist will also show you how to use Sprout3D, so you can focus on these precious early months of your kiddo’s life.
Does this take a long time? Cranial remolding usually takes 3–4 months. Your orthotist can give you a more specific prediction based on your child’s age and head shape.
Probably the biggest factor to fast results, though? Sticking to the wear schedule from your orthotist!
And parents are pretty consistent with Sprout3D, because their baby is comfortable, and it’s easy to open, clean, and put back on again.
Does Sprout3D put pressure on the head, like dental braces? Not at all! It’s a passive device. It guides head growth that was already going to happen.
How? The inside of the helmet gently contacts certain areas to curb growth while also leaving void areas to encourage growth for reshaping.
This channels natural head growth along the path of least resistance toward a symmetrical head shape. And it’s based on decades of orthotic experience.
The Surestep team has worked hard to make Sprout3D comfortable, effective, and easy to use.
Plus, the team has decades of combined cranial experience, and we analyzed more than 10,000 cranial cases during the design.
Here’s what some parents have said about Sprout3D:
“We have the 3D printed helmet and it’s so easy to put on!”
“It helps a lot to shape your baby’s head and also it’s comfortable for them.”
“I enjoy how simple it is to take on and off and clean. It also is very durable and lightweight!”
“Great customer service. Always available for questions.”
“I’ve already recommended to a friend.”
