Description: This one-hour webinar is designed for pediatric orthotists and physical therapists seeking to enhance their clinical approach to managing ankle contractures in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Participants will begin with a review of the prevalence and underlying pathophysiology of ankle contractures, including the primary factors that contribute to their development across the CP population.

Building on this foundation, the session will explore the role of orthotic intervention, highlighting current evidence supporting its use in contracture prevention and management. Special focus will be placed on the principles of low-load, long-duration stretch and how they can be effectively applied through advanced orthotic designs, including the Surestep Spring Flex AFO with multi-motion hinges. Practical discussion will include clinical application, torque considerations, and break-in scheduling to optimize outcomes.
