PLS AFO

The Surestep PLS AFO (posterior leaf spring ankle-foot orthosis) is designed for kids and teens with poor sagittal plane stability, moderate toe walking, or mild to moderate crouch gait. With a full-length footplate and lightweight strut, this AFO resists excessive plantarflexion and dorsiflexion while improving swing phase clearance to support a smoother, more efficient gait.

How to Order

Indications:

  • Poor swing phase clearance
  • Mild coronal plane instability
  • Mild to moderate toe walking
  • Mid to moderate crouch gait

Contraindications:

  • Severe coronal plane instability
  • More significant hypotonia or hypertonia
  • Greater limitations in range of motion

Functional Support:

These devices offer support and stability to promote function and address low/high tone. Patients are able to actively correct when cued.

Alignment Control:

These devices provide maximum support and positioning with limited flexibility within the device and address high tone. Patients are able to actively correct when cued.
